Discover the magic in the present moment, bond with your team, improve confidence, develop valuable performance skills, have fun playing and creating memorable stories.
In this course we will cultivate a safe space in which we can explore, create, play and find confident creative expression. With a focus on reading the energy of the room, calming the mind, improvisation, conversation, imagination, body language, and creative storytelling, there will be plenty to learn and so much fun to be had!
Through carefully crafted exercises, students will learn the ways that an actor prepares themselves for their performances and works together as part of an ensemble team. Fun theatre games allow students to bond with their peers and encourage working together. All this will help the students to understand better how an actor can think quickly on the spot to find the sparks of comedy and dramatic meaning that can touch people’s hearts and tell interesting stories.
If you’ve taken a Magic in the Moment class in the past, you’ll find this class to be similar but just 1 hour instead of 1.5 hours, and wholly focused on improv, no scripts.
Open to both enthusiastic newcomers and returning students alike.
